Blog 10: Islam

The tribes have always been important to the Arabian and Islamic nation. They made people feel welcome and part of a small community. Even though there are positive affects by having tribes, there are obvious negatives that outweigh the positives. The tribes form a separation that is hard to overcome. They often allow unqualified people in higher class tribes more authority then more qualified members of lower class tribes. That was the case with Muhammad, he was an amazing thinker and leader, but because he was in a lower tribe he was not allowed to teach his words and he was exiled from his land. If not for this social division it would have been easier from Muhammad’s teachings to spread. Even after the death of Muhammad, the tribal system caused much political strife, the Islamic people through many different leaders because of the tribal feuds.
